Exercises    Return to welcome

Remember,  "a little too little is better than a little too much".  When practicing, whether it be vocalizing, breathing, or just singing songs, stop when you begin to feel tired. Just as in any other athletic endeavor, It is very easy to over do. When it comes to vocal work,

                        NO PAIN, NO GAIN IS
NOT good.

Some of these exercises may seem rather strange in the beginning.  The great tenor, Pavarotti, said If anyone had watched him take a voice lessons they might have thought both he and his voice teacher were crazy. However, what we do is no more crazy than a bunch of football players running through a double row of tires to improve their balance.

Don't hesitate to email me with any questions you may have about these exercises at  richardhilty@yahoo.com  All of the videos have been taken with a web cam. These little cameras are amazingly good. I have had to convert some files from avi files to wmv files resulting in a few being a little fuzzy.  However, they do the job.

Before you start on any vocal exercises first work the "Into the Back" exercise in "Breathing Exercises" for a few minutes. Then do the Head Voice exercises Group One. This will help you wake up your body
